Free Meals for All Students

The Brookfield Local School District is pleased to announce that all students in grades kindergarten through twelve will have access to FREE breakfast and lunch meals throughout the 2024-25 school year. The initiative, which begins the first day of school, August 21, 2024, ensures that every student receives nutritious breakfast and lunch daily, supporting their academic success and overall well-being.

“We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and one way we can help do that is by ensuring access to nutritious meals," district Superintendent Toby Gibson says. "This program is a critical part of our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our students, so they can focus on learning and reaching their full potential without worrying about where their next meal is coming from."

The implementation of free meals is possible through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a program designed to help districts that meet certain criteria serve no-cost meals to all students.
